Sarah ...wine and choc sounds good to me .I use protein drinks after long runs and try to eat sensibly during the week but like you would eat loads if i didnt know i would have to drag the extra weight round with me lol!

The race is on the 20th March so only 3 weeks to go ...any tips on what to do in the last week would be appreciated from anyone . At the mo i do suffer from really bad stomach cramps after a long run and am trying different things too combat this ...fingers crossed i find something that works !

Hi everyone

New to this forum ...and to running really ! Decided just before Christmas that it would be a good idea to run the derby Kilomathon ! Read a lot and asked alot of advice and have just made it up as i went along but seem to be doing ok ....long run at the weekend was 21.2 k    so seem to be on target and with a 2 decent runs in the week along with some weights /core stuff i am hopeful  i will get round the course ! Am a bit confused .com about diet etc before during and after the race but keep reading and picking peoples brains .....the running bug seems to have bitten at the age of 40 ! lol
