I would love to have done the Thames Path 100. Having spoken to other runners they have commented that the Thames Path and the South Downs were a lot better. All the best in qualifying. I'm all psyched up already for this 100 miler! It looks very picturesque and the start and finish location also seems like that it will be very memorable once completed! I'm determined to be one of them in September!!!!!!!
I had attempted to complete the North Downsway 100 and only managed 80 miles, which involved getting lost four times (markings were not brilliant) and just before mile 70 I twisted my ankle and struggled for the remaining 10 miles in the pouring rain Fortunately the swelling has gone down now. It's my first DNF I was gutted which is why I have booked to do this 100 miler in the hope that I complete it within 35 hours!!! Looks like an interesting course!!!!! Anyone else doing the 100 miler?
I tend to do a 5k or 10k after a 14 hour shift! I have a 24 week regime which I have to stick to as a result of doing the Downsway 100 mile run which is on 9 August! I enjoy running at night and does not effect my sleeping patten!
Furthemore to my query I have just looked at the Yorkshire Marathon website and states the following to my dissappointment:
Can I give my runner number to someone else?
No. Entries are non-transferable between third parties due to health and safety reasons and all participants must be registered in their own right in order to participate in an event. Any runner, who is found to have participated in the event under a transferred entry, will be immediately disqualified from the event. If you are unable to take part in the event, please contact us on 0113 8267767 or email us.
What a shame!!!!!!!!!!!!
These organisers are getting so strick these days!!!!!!!
