I love this race and tho' not a PB well happy with 1.33 as not been putting the miles in. There seemed to be more supporters this year along the course which I find really good for the soul.
This was the first year I've run with a HRM/footpod - I measured the course as only 12.8 miles. Calibration probably went barmy but it is normally spot on. Did anyone else happen to measure it? I'm fairly sure some of the mile markers were out.
I too made up for the calories with a great sunday roast in one of the local country pubs. Sorry to hear about the car park problems. For future events there are quite a lot of other options around town that avoid that huge q in and out.
I've done this race 3 times and really like it, partly because I live 5 minutes walk away but also because it's organised by proper runners who do it for the sport not as a big money making exercise. Nice to start and finish in the stadium and only one tough hill, the rest is undulating. I would definitely do this again but already committed to a mountain biking weekend in Wales. Strangely they've scheduled this same day as Wimbledon 10k which is a much bigger event.
Had one of these and a good pump for sure. However, broke after about a year and never got close to the PSI you quote.
I replaced it with a Topeak mountain turbo (£24)- there is a road version which gets a higher PSI. The Turbo is bigger than the Blackburn which may rule it out if you're racing. On the other hand its clever design means it acts like a mini track pump and is super quick and effective at the job.
Post this on the main thread - there's bound to be someone coming in from your neck of the woods. Or if you don't fancy the run you'll be more likely to get a taker for the number.
