So, I want to try and add a different dimension to my training outside of running. Ideally I'd like to build core strength and generally have a better all-round fitness.

I wanted to know what kinds of things have people have tried and how it has helped them with their running?

I have been told that pilates is really good for helping with the above but wanted to see what other things I might not have considered

Thanks for all the info guys. I ended up going to SweatShop and get myself a pair of Adidas Kanadias. I was however tempted by some bright orange and yellow Asics but ended up going for the ones that were alot more comfortable. Now to get me some off-road runs in!

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some help in selecting Trail shoes. My normal running shoes are, New Balance M1260RB - http://www.sweatshop.co.uk/details.cfm?ProdID=9770 as I over pronate slightly and require a bit of stability.

I quite like these as they have a nice amount of cushioning and support but are not too heavy and so I find them really comfortable to run in. I want to find something that might be similar but for off-road running and have no idea where to start.

Any help would be brilliant, thank you in advance!

Wounded! I thought that I had run my first Sub45 10K! It is a real shame if it is less than 10k as was a nice course to run.

Gutted! I thought I had smashed my previous best by 6 minutes! I travelled all the way from Stoke to do it as there weren't any close by. Slightly disgruntled and disheartened now!
