Wilkie wrote (see)

I used to swim and play hockey a bit when I was at middle school, but with more enthusiasm than skill.

I stopped doing sports at high school (about 13), and did nothing much until my late thirties, when I started running (which I had hated at school).  Again, with more enthusiasm than skill/speed.

Last year I started cycling too - for the first time ever.

None of my family do any sport, but they're pretty active.  My sister and BIL go walking.

My mum is nearly 90, but is more active than some people a quarter her age.  She walks, or gets the bus to go shopping, visit people, etc.

You mean you started learning to cycle? I'm so rubbish on bike I'm too self-conscious to go out and try..

Do you know what it is? The foot injury? i would go to physio to get a second opinion. I would also take a total rest from running i.e. not even treadmill - cycling should be good to maintain fitness (i am now out of action with PF and found it doesn't load the foot that much, whereas even walking does).

So now I'm down with plantar fasciitis, what should I do to keep fitness that I gained in the HM training? Went roller skating last night but it turned out painful for the PF affected foot. Swimming should be ok but I'd like to do something else as well. Cycling and general gym seem ok? Circuit clas probably would include some running so I should probably give it a miss. Anything I should avoid in the gym?
