Morning all, just scanned to have quick catch up, good running everyone.
15W stop fucking hopping.
Madbee - I have not done many 5-10k races and not raced a Half properly (did Liverpool this year but didn't "race" it) for 18 months but my PB's are (I am female)
5k: 22:08 (2012)
10k: 46:10 (2012)
Half: 1:41 (2013)
Marathon: 3:48 (2014)
Reporting some running this week but not much as been away beginning of week with kids so rested until Thursday. Thursday did 11 mile easy (I am on week 8 of 12/55); last night did 10 with 5 at LT pace (7:45m/m finishing with final 2 at 7:39/37m/m). Going to have to do 7 easy today (plan has 2 x 5 recovery runs this week but can't fit them in) then doing 17 on hilly trails tomorrow. So missed 3 miles in the training if week goes to plan. Those 3 miles will haunt me.
I too have problem with the conversions from HM pace to MP. My marathon PB is 1:41 (Feb 2013). I managed 2 months later a 3:52 at Manchester 2013. Then I ran a 1:43 (although in awful weather) at Liverpool pre Manchester 2014 and did a 3:48. My friend did her second marathon in 3:29 at Manchester and she ran a 1:36 at Liverpool Half. She converts perfectly. She only came 3 minutes in front of me at the Stafford 20 mile race but I was 18 minutes behind her at Manchester. Everyone different, I suppose! The Fetch Half to marathon calculator far more accurate. I don't seem to reach my potential at marathon distance, I really struggle last few miles to keep my legs moving.
Mennania how are you? Not seen you around on the racing scene, have you done any local ones recently? You doing Lake Vyrnwy?
Sorry to hear about your ishoooos with your leg 15W, definitely seek out physio advice rather than GP. Yes, I did do Manchester, kind of followed P&D again but not to the letter and PB'd with a 3:48. Then I did London the week later and took that easy in 4:06. Absolutely loved London, it was brilliant. Spent whole time hi fiving the kids and smiled all way around, most enjoyable marathon I have ever ran!
ACP - I am not sure I have a PB in me for Chester, Manchester is a fast course but a course PB would be good, I did 3:54 at Chester 2 years ago. I went out to do the 16 with 10 at pace yesterday but at 6am neither myself nor my running friend who came with me, had anything in us! We just did the 16 miles easy pace but it was a hard run. So will have to do that this weekend. That is probably due to fact I haven't ran 16 miles since May!
