Slimming world is really good jlb, me and the mrs did that and lost quite a bit. Should really start again.

I had a slightly disappointing morning. My mate wussed out this morning and didn't show up, he is now getting a good ribbing currently on facebook. Knowing that I had won the bet without even having to run was a bit poo. In saying that it may have been a good thing as it was an awful run, my legs just didn't wanna go, I just couldn't seem to open them up. I took an extra day rest beforehand too. Finished in 25:49, 50 seconds slower than my pb

Hope everyone else's morning went better?

Wow jlb that's awesome!! So what's your secret? That's a big chunk of time in a short space, good effort!

Heather, hope the parkrun goes ok. You might even find that the active rest as done you a world of good.

16miles Lauren? Fair play, I think my legs would fall off. You'll be blitzing around the parkrun once your marathon is finished.

I've done a couple of 3milers, a 6miler and tonight did a 5mi with a monster hill in the middle. Gonna try and get a final run in on thurs before the 'race' on sat.

Welcome to the thread Heather, the more the merrier! I'm sure we can help you get down to than 25 min mark

60 lengths is some good going Lauren, not sure I could manage that at the moment. I this active rest will benefit you greatly. How's the shin feeling now?

I didn't do my run yesterday as I couldn't be arsed to run in the snow lol finally got out tonight though. Was my first run since the car door incident, funnily enough my shin was still a bit sore while running but seems to have cleared it up.

Wow well done Jlb! That's a big chunk off! The parkrun I usually go to was minus 6 degrees this morning so glad I didn't go lol

I haven't run for a few days as quite stupidly I slammed the car door on my own leg (embarrassed), not even sure how I did it haha it been quite bruised and painful. Feeling a load better today so gonna get out tomorrow. Planning to do 3/4 steady runs between now and next Saturday. Going to refamiliarise myself with the parkrun course next week ready for 'the race' the week after

Is there a better grade tape? Like the stuff rugby, football players etc wear to reposition their knees and the like for games
