Wow what a difference! Got to say the supports are brilliant. Like some of you have said, they're not a miraculous cure but I've been able to run every day since with no problems. The only thing I'd say is I wish I'd bought the ones with the velcro cos after a run they're buggers to get off, you almost need to have them surgically removed! Well worth trying though.
I've just ordered myself some shin supports on ebay. I've been suffering on and off with shin splints which as you know is very frustrating so am trying everything. Just paid £25 for a pair which have had good reviews so am hoping and praying. Will let you know how they go.
I love my protein shakes and would be lost without them. I initially started taking them because I am a vegetarian and was seriously lacking in protein. I find it really helps with my running and repair of my muscles afterwards and its very quickly and easily digested, if like me you have a sensitive tummy and can't eat straightaway, you can get whey protein which is specific to dieters too, my one is only 116 cals. wouldn't recommend as meal replacement though.
Well I've tried upping my calories and its not working. I'm still averaging between 1300 and 1500 cals a day and my run usually uses 670 cals. I'm finding I just can't physically eat the amount recommended. Am I to be stuck in this starvation mode forever or will my body eventually adapt to the extra training? I was going to sign up for a 10k today but feel so depressed with this whole weight issue I can't think about anything else. I know I shouldn't but I weighed today and have actually lost some muscle and gained two pounds. How is this possible when I'm not even taking any days off at this point. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Hi there, very desperate person here. I've bee having trouble trying to lose a really stubborn half stone. Its really starting to depress me now. I've been running 6 miles 5 or 6 days a week and eating really healthy. Someone told me body was actually in this starvation mode but I am finding it physically impossible to eat anymore. I tend to eat between 1300 and 1500 cals a day and can't fit anymore in. This I know is not enough if I'm burning 670 cals on a treadmill. I tried eating a bit more and what do I get another 2 pound went on just llike that so am really getting fed up with this. Will I always be stuck now and no matter how hard I train nothing will work. Please if someone has any advice it would be much appreciated.
