Nike Free 3.0 v2, v3 were really good for form although a bit soft for most; i actually welcomed the comfort on longer runs.  Nike lost the plot with the v4 which i think may have been silently recalled as they'd rip after the first couple of runs, breathability was a real issue also which lead me to believe that it wasn't a shoe designed by anyone that runs.

I'll always wear shorts over tights; if it's cold enough for tights then the little fella is going to get cold with only one layer.  I tried stickig a buff down there but it wobbles off so i stick with the shorts.  Plus, when I pick my children up from school I really don't want to be showing off my bits and bobs.

Not sure why any of you guys would judge someone for what they wear though you must be all very, very, very fast to be so condesending.

Prevention is better than cure Cougie. if you can learn to run in a manner that reduces joint damage then you'lll be thankfull when you're old(er) and grey(er).

I made a similiar jump from Nimbus'; these are a highly supportive shoe so if that is what you are used to then, depending on your own particular mechanics, it will take some time.

If you want to maintain your current distance/intensity then you need to rely on gradually intrducing minimalist footwear into your routine. So maybe run in your regular shoes and then run in your minimalist shoes on shorter efforts, gradually introducing your minimalist shoes more and more.

If you want to smash straight into your minimalist shoes then consider droping your distance/intensity right down.  You are starting to run again, do the 10% rule and you should have no problem....don't run on an injury.

Running is supposed to hurt though, so don't worry too much about slight soreness.
