Claire, I don't have much experience in running, but from following the couch to 5k programme, I think the key is consistency. Just sticking to doing 3 runs a week and eating healthily should mean the weight flies off! I've just started week 7 and it is definitely a struggle now! Just ran for 28mins non stop. I think that's the first time ever! Good luck and keep up the running
Go for it! You'll be fine, have you ever done running/sport before or is this a real first? Once the first few runs are over i'm sure you'll be really enjoying it
I was kind of sick at the end of the 33 minute one! God knows if i'll ever manage under 30 mins! All manner of people passed me who I naively thought were in worse shape than me! oops
Hi Claire and others, I am fairly new here, but just to say I am also following this program and am about to do the week 6 run 3 this weekend. I've found it jumps massively ! From doing 10 mins run 3mins walk 10 mins run, I now have to run 25 mins continuously! I'm scared! But after the first few weeks, it really does get easier- around weeks 3-4 it feels a lot more comfortable to be out running!
Sweatband- congrats on your running achievements. 5k in under 30 mins is a goal of mine too- I'm intrigued to know how you did it. I did my parkrun last sat and got 33 mins- but it was agony!
Thanks Stripes and Silver I was really put out on my first ever parkrun when a man with a buggy and child beat me!! I couldn't believe it, but its very popular now it appears
