Have marshalled this baby before (and thoroughly enjoyed it) but never run it. To be honest I have never thought I would be able to finish the course but am running my first marathon next Sunday so figure this is the year for it! May change my mind by Monday though |

Cslip I have not done it before but am planning to take sun tan lotion - wouldn't want sunburn on top of every other ache I will, undoubtedly, have. |

Did the Darent 10k yesterday and, even though it started at 8.30 it was still hot - still couldn't get in under 60 mins, mind you, this isn't the time to be going for a 10k pb is it?? Am starting to feel excited/nervous about next week - again hope the ankle holds up (am sure it will) but, like Jaime, feeling pretty unfit as I was tired after the 10k! Think it will finally hit home when I go to Excel on Wednesday and am looking forward to wearing a shoe that doesn't lace up and has a heel . Keep up the good work (or rest, more to the point) and keep safe for the next few days. |

mitiog - thank you for the welcome, only just got onto my pc as took my son to pizza hut (it is carbs after all) - really can't understand why this weight won't come off . Having not run for nearly a week now am chomping at the bit to get out on the club run tomorrow evening and sooo hoping calf/ankle dI oesn't give me any undue worry. I think you are all inspirational and are doing a wonderful job at keeping each other going. EP - I have 2 pairs of black compression socks and wear them all the time but appreciate that they do make me look like a school girl (not in a good way) when I wear them with my running shorts! I haven't taken my trainers off for the past week for fear that any other pair of shoes I wear may create problems with my feet but now I have permanently wrinkly toes (yuk!). |

| I have just caught the "weight loss campaign" line and, without going back and reading all previous posts can I just ask - am I the only one who hasn't lost a shed load of weight since i started to increase training? Even though my weight has yoyo'd for as long as I can remember I was convinced that I would be svelte like from all the extra mileage - it appears that is not the case and i am just hungry most of the time!! |
