Hi, I registered for the Edinburgh Marathon this year but after an injury in the Frankfurt Marathon lastyear, I am still not back to running (still waiting for a mri scan not good)...so with regret I am pulling out of the marathon so I would like to offer my place to another runner. I paid around ??50 for the place, I know I wont get that back and dont expect too, I know however that whoever takes the place has to pay a ??10 transfer fee. I will accept ??20 for the place so total you pay is ??30...I feel that is fair as it is sold out...I really don't want my place going to waste so please email steveevetts@me.com |

With the stress fractures, what are everyones symptoms? I ran in the Frankfurt marathon last October and I am still in pain, physio reckons I have tibial tendonosis...but I am sceptical on this, symptoms include: Sore to touch in one place on the tibia bone Also have aches along the tendon from below the knee to the foot. About a month ago, I was getting very strange heat sensations in the foot. Also had pins and needles in the foot. I do not have any pain whilst walking although I know it is still there, hardly any pain whilst running but when I rest it is painful and very achy. Have tried all the usual stretches the physio gives out and have also had 8 weeks total rest over the christmas period, it just does not seem to be shifting any ideas? |

This will be my 3rd marathon...unfortunately I have tendenitis so training is only just beginning but I am looking forward to it - I think I ran the Edinburgh half last year and it was hot so really hoping it is not too hot this year. I live 30 miles away and it is a rariety for it to be that hot Hope everyones training is going well and be good to chat with you all as we get ever closer and share our training highs and lows. |

Hi Martin, I have PTT, and have had (having sat down and thought about it) for 6 months. I thought it was just shin splints but after completing the Frankfurt marathon back in October, it has got alot worse, one physio also thought I had a stress fracture. Do you get any discomfort when at rest? this seems to be the worse time for pain and aches... Are you still training? I am going to try that technique and see what happens, hope it helps..thanks for the advice. |
