It's all such a pain in the arse isn't it! It's like our legs don't want us to run.

Hope you get it fixed Andy.

Hello. I’m running the London Marathon in April. However, I’m currently rehabilitating from a shin splint that has plagued me for over 2 months. I’ve been given some excellent exercises by a personal trainer at my gym to help build the right muscles in my legs and I’ve just started this course.

In January I’ll have 16 weeks until the race. I was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice about a training plan tailored to my situation. I’m capable of running about 4-miles at the moment (minus the shin splint of course). But running at the moment is out of the question and I think it will take about 3-weeks to develop the necessary muscles in my legs to prevent load bearing from aggravating my recovering injury further. That will leave me with 14 weeks to build up the miles.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Ian
