| Oh dear, that must have been horrid- you would think that a doctors letter would hold water. Another friend tells me to run despite the soreness, I tried that and managed 20 mins but was sore afterwards. What a waste, it's not as if you can give someone else the place, thanks for your replies, |

| Hi- not sure if anyone else has had a problem like this but I would value any advice. I had a ballot place for the 2012 FLM but I had been in a car crash and saved my place for 2013. About 6 weeks ago I started suffering with tendonitis in my ankle, went to my GP who advised the RICE treatment and just cross training. I still have this problem but obviously April is just around the corner. I know you can only save a place for one year but do you think the FLM people might waive the rule on production of a doctor's letter? |

| Hi can anyone give me advice please? It's 22 weeks to the VLM 2013 and I have developed a horrid injury to the top of my foot. I don't think I've had my laces too tight and cannot think what could have caused this. The soreness is just where my foot joins my leg and towards the outer side of my foot. I've tried icing it and resting but its still really sore and I am limping even when walking. Any one had anything similar? |

Thanks so much to you all for this feedback - it is very helpful. I do realise, of course, that my three stone excess weight doesnt help as this is an extra load on the cardio system. Once again, many thanks to you all |

Thanks for that, I am on a "return to running schedule" after a car accident. I have put on three stones in weight due to being imobile after the car accident. Prior to that I was doing 5 and 10'ks but very slowly as I was certainly not sylph like even before the three stone gain! Its just that now I seem to be really struggling without improving at all. I bought John "The Penguin"'s book and he is saying if you cant talk you are working much too hard. The heart rate monitor thing sounds ok - are they a pain to set up? Thanks for these two comments - really appreciated |
