Need some advice please. Have been training for my first marathon in Milton Keynes 6th May. My last long run was on the 3rd March at 18.5, had previously done another 18 and 2x 16. Had been planning to do at least 2x20s but after pulling a muscle in my thigh I started reducing my miles, then for last 2 weeks have not been running at all, as I was just making it worse, but doing swimming instead. I now feel ok, and am planning on going out next week. I know to take it easy, but with 4 weeks to go, how far should I aim to run? By rights I should be tapering, but don't feel I've done enough!
Thank you. I Haven't run since last Sunday!!! I have been doing RICE and have started stretching, and is easing off. I was limping last week, but now walking ok, and no need for pain killers, but it is still "there". Hopefully be able to try a gentle jog next week. Just getting me down, when I was doing so well!!!
Thanks Mikasa, have no idea how I done it , think poss from upping my mileage. Have been discaplined and not run since Wednesday, and rested lots and been taking ibuprofen, already feeling lots better, so hopefully be able to go out next week.
