Many thanks to the organisers and marshals. Really enjoyed the race. I haven't done the course before but I enjoyed the final 2 miles. Anybody have a link to the results yet ? |

Tx for all the suggestions. I was very tempted by the Inov-8 Trailrocs but felt they were just a bit too similar to my current New Balance 'waffles' In the end I opted for Merrell Mix Masters. Looks like this weekend's snow might be an ideal tiem to test them out |

I'm reluctant to throw my favourite trainers away (or even give them to charity) so I have : 2 x road trainers that have done over a 1000 miles but are fine for mixed terrain muddy training runs
Then 4 x more regular road trainers (including a pair I bought two years ago and still haven't started using yet) 2 x racers 1 x 'waffles' 1 x 'conversions' - old road trainers now with an off-road sole 1 x athletic spikes 1 x cross country spikes So that's 12 pairs in total |

Thanks for more suggestions. HRHB (great name BTW ) thanks for pointing out about the rubber compound. Sounds like I need to visit an actual running shop and feel the grip before committing myself. Or pester runners I meet to have a look at their soles (not souls !) ........ |

Thanks for those suggestions. All look good options. And those TrailRocs are super light - 245g ! |
