Hi Wombling free - I sit like that all the time at work!

What sort of knee problem do you get, and left knee (the one you have on top) or right, (the one underneath). Might explain an intermittent left knee / hip issue I have had for a while.

Hi All - been missing for a few days, but sounds like you are all doing really well!! Longest run ever last Sunday, 15M which was just under the 2:15 mark the schedule called for, so I was shattered but happy.

I have just been sent the race rules and it clearly says you cannot run with an ipod / iphone etc. This is potentially massive to me as its my first marathon and I'm using Runkeeper to keep me on pace. Is this ban going to be enforceable across 12000 people? Have any of you faced this before? I've never run with headphones before now, but am really loving the five minute refocus on pace that Runkeeper gives me....

Any suggestions or ideas, other than ditch Runkeeper now and manage without?

Direct quote below:

For health and safety reasons you must not participate in the event whilst listening to any personal music playing device.  This is particularly important in order to allow our emergency services and their vehicles to operate safely on the day which they may not be able to do if you are unable to hear what is happening around you throughout the race.  Consequently iPods, MP3 Players or similar electronic music players must not be worn.

Hi All

Sounds like a great weekend for most. My weekly mileage was 26 for the first time ever, which explains why my legs are a bit tired!

Rest today, then 5M fartlek for tomorrow. This will be another first for me, so is there any advice as to how I should approach it? Fartlek is some faster, some slower, is that right?

Nervous of 15M on Sunday, another first - they are coming thick and fast this week!!

Have fun all - off to study the course posted above.

Thanks Cara_26.2; although I've run Halves for a long time, its my first attempt at a marathon and I seem unable to transfer across my confidence that come race day I'll be OK!

Its raining her so the snow / slush is slowly retreating - hoorah!
