I ran this too, it was bloody tough but what a beautiful day on a very challenging route The weather was gorgeous and it was a great day. I managed a 1:42 which I was chuffed with especially as it was only my 2nd HM.
Here in the midlands we're not suffering as bad with it all. But did my first run out in "proper rain" on tuesday (the end of my 'fair weather runner' tag :P). Most of the time though im dropping lucky with my runs, and they fall in the brief moments or days when the sun comes out, or the rain eases off. I've been waiting (dreading) all winter for the snow to come however, don't think i'll bring myself to get out in the snow,.. unless it comes down march 16th (my first HM), when i'll just have to man up and face it :/.
Wow sounds like you have got lucky with the weather!! By the way, what HM are you doing on the 16th March? My HM is the same date at Longleat.
I'm sure those who've been flooded out will sympathise with your current lack of fun and boredom.
Easy tiger..... Nobody said anything about not been sympathetic and I'm sure most of us feel helpless towards those who have lost everything in the floods!
You could pick a hole in most threads on here with that attitude.
Whooaa Mr F, I didn't want to start a tit for tat! Okay, not being able to run is nothing compared to those who have been flooded for whom I have the greatest sympathy. In fact just yesterday is was part of a work scheme where we helped load straw bales en route to the Somerset levels!
Anyway, yes lets hope the worst is over and we can all get back to normal, whether it's just our running routine or for some, just day to day life!
Just wondering who else is getting a tad fed up with the winter storms!? I've a Half Marathon in 5 weeks and trying to get out for some longer runs, but the weather is just a nightmare! I don't mind a bit of wind and rain but when it's gale force winds driving the rain horizontally into my face whilst running on sopping wet ground is just no fun at all As I speak the sun is shining and tomorrow looks a better day. Lets hope the worst weather is over - roll on the spring!!
