Thanks Fiona, that's very useful info . I need to book my return train, so need to be realistic with timing to get back to Haymarket. |

Recieved my race pack yesterday (yay!) and getting really excited now. I am starting in Pen White Pen G which seems ok (i think). However, can any experieced GNR runners tell me if the start time of 10:40 is realistic? The reason I ask is that it takes nearly 10 minutes to get to the start of the Bath Half and that's only 10000 people... Also, what is the best way of getting back to Newcastle Haymarket - would it be the metro or the bus? I'll probably be taking about 2:30 to get round so finishing at 'peak time'. |

| Sorry if this is a bit unsubtle...I wore my shorts for a 9 mile run last week and ended up with nasty chafing due to a little 'leakage' . Wore them for a 10k yesterday with a bit more protection this time, and no issues (barring a little nettles rash). |

No email or race pack for me yet. Been having very mixed feelings about this race as doc thinks I may have Morton's neuroma...ultrasound tomorrow afternoon. It's such bad timing and I really don't want to be dropping out at this stage |

I have a foot problem for the first time in 5 years of running...no sudden change of diet/shoes/training When I run and walk, the top bony centre of my foot hurts and this radiates underneath my foot. It feels ok at rest, but is quite painful when starting up walking or running. It eases off after the first mile or so. I can stand on the foot in a balance with no pain and I can stand on tiptoes on that foot with no pain, but it hurts if I curl my foot downwards over a step. There's no sign of bruising/swelling/redness. Anyone recognise this/know what it might be? I've had it for a few weeks and it gets a bit worse when I run, but better when I rest it (rested it for a week, but it came back on restarting running). Not sure if the doc would be interested? |
