Hi all. Got fed up with not being able to run and went to the gym this morning. 4 miles on the treadmill. It might have been slower than my normal pace and I could feel my hip pulling throughout but the pain wasn't too bad and I could have gone longer.
The boyfriend and I are hitting the treadmill tomorrow to run until one of us stops. Neither of us should run too long due to injuries but we are a little competitive and neither of us will want to be the first to stop. It could be an interesting session
Stephen unfortunately not I still have my full time job just looking for another job that may pay a bit more to help with the bills.
Toby oh okay that makes sense, just never heard of it before and neither had my boyfriend who has done several Brightons.
Well still no running for me as the hip is still painful. Seems worse today so maybe rest is not helping as much as running was lol. Going to try a run on Sunday if I can but may just wait to get physio advice on Monday. Im hoping its nothing and I she gives me the okay to get back to normal running on Tuesday but at least if there is a problem with how I train I can find it and sort it out before the official training starts.
Either way I am going to have to adjust my training plan as I have missed too many sessions recently to be able to pick it back up again so Im going to take it back to basics and build up gradually.
It means that I am not at the level I wanted to be when I start the training plan but as its my first marathon and I only need to get round it isn't going to ruin that im just going to be less ambitious on how prepared and fast I might be.
Well I dragged myself out of bed for another 530am run this morning, got all kitted up and out the door....but no run. My hip has been playing up for a few weeks and yesterday's run did something to it. Walking was painful yesterday but nothing major so I had figured a run would be okay. As soon as I started this morning every step was jarring my hip but I continued for a bit to see if I could run it off. It only made it worse so I decided not to risk more damage and went home. I have an appointment with the phsyio on Monday evening but Im hoping it will fix itself before then.
I didn't get out to do last night's run as we are decorating at the moment so I went this morning instead. 5 miles in the pouring rain with only a head torch to light the way (I live in the country so no street lights) it was one of those runs that is truly awesome and makes you realise just why you run.
Another 5 tonight which will be a lot slower as my morning runs have to be run fast (for me) to ensure I get back home in time to get ready for work. Hip is still a bit sore so I will have to roll that or keep an eye on it.
