Hi all! Still not running still banned for at least another 2 weeks but there has been a huge improvement so hopefully I will be back running soon. Feeling a lot more hopeful and will soon start playing with the training plan ans adjusting it as I can't start when I wanted to. I reckon I'm looking at 16 weeks to marathon but will have to start from scratch - anyone got any advice on what I need in a training plan?
Just thought I would pop by to say hi. Some great running going on and I am quite jealous. No running for me still. Have been walking the dog every morning and trying a couple of sneaky running sections in it but my leg hurts after walking half a mile and as soon as I start to try and run the pain shoots up my leg so I admit defeat and go back to a slow walk. I have been on the turbo trainer this week with no worsening of the injury so at least I can start cycling again. Not sure I am going to be able to run anytime soon. Still hoping to bank on the fitness I built up over the summer to pick up the training programme and still make it to Brighton but we will have to see how the injury progress. I am far from beaten at the moment.
Hi all! Thank you all for the good wishes regarding my hip. I'm really fed up of resting and it not getting any better. Get quite jealous when I pass people running on my way home. It's been over 4 weeks now so hopefully I can get back to running soon. I miss running enough to have learnt that I will be better to rest until I am fixed than do too much too early and just worsen the injury and down time.
I am still hopeful I will be able to do the marathon plan when its due to start but we shall have to see how it goes. If necessary I will just have to adapt it.
One good thing with this injury is I will be unlikely to miss a run because I can't be bothered when I start running again as I now know how it feels to want to run and not be able to do so I will run every run and remember that I am lucky to be able to.
Safer well done on the 10k. I hate chasing pbs which is why I am loving that this is the first marathon for me as it means no PB to chase and no time to aim for.
Marshy and terikspore I will also be running 4 times a week - once I can run that is.
