I usually run with music if I feel I need the boost, sometimes I turn it up and concentrate on the music and ignore the voice in my head saying my legs ache but I never race with music and do about half my training without music just to enjoy the run.
I ran a half last year where they pulled people out the race when they spotted them on the course with headphones so just be prepared for that Soph.
Good 5 miles for me last night, was aiming for 55 mins and did it in 49.21 appear to have fallen back in love with running and found my speed again. Now to build up slowly and follow some great advice I was given yesterday to get me to BM2015
3 mile run for me this morning. Not my fastest 5k by any means at 31.27 but after not running for so long it's a start. Watched the sun rise while I ran which was kinda magical and for the first time I ran with a smile and am looking forward to going again.
