Back in training this week after two weeks off while the other half was in hospital. Somehow the enforced rest has given me new found speed and I'm averaging almost a minute faster per mile over every run.
I'm in. Injury deferal from 2015. Learnt a lot and this time I will be there. First marathon so no goal time just to get to the start and the finish and enjoy it. Got a couple of half's in the build up to prepare
I did a Spin class for the first time in months yesterday its also the longest I have trained (45 mins) for over 3 months. Leg felt good with no pain but fitness is definitely at an all time low.
Didn't really enjoy the spin class, Im definitely an outside runner rather than anything else.
I have cancelled the gym membership to just run outside. Going to take me a long time to get back to where I was due to the need to build it up really slowly to help the leg but I will get there eventually.
Not making any decisions about 2016. I just need to run and enjoy it and see where it takes me. Going to come off here now so just popped by to wish you all a great marathon journey and of course a merry Christmas and happy new year.
Thanks for your good wishes everyone. Leg is still playing up so have only been for one other 1 mile run walk. Thinking I will give it a rest until after Christmas now to give it more time to recover.
Feeling pretty down about everything and don't even know whether I will ever do a marathon or if I want to. Just going to run for pleasure for a few months and do the distance my legs feel like on the day with no kind of training plan and see how I feel in April.
