"What plan are you on if youre up to 10 miles now?"
my longest run is currently 10 miles and I'm following the Edinburgh training plan on their website. Should be running 4 times a wk but in reality I'm only managing 3 (2 small & 1 long). Having read everyone's comments I think I will invest in a small lightweight rucksack and carry some water and try various gels.
no running this wk as full of cold but at least it gives me a few days to purchase a few items!
Yeah, ive been thinking about trying gels but I've heard mixed reactions about them. I usually go out early without eating (as I'm not sure my constitution could cope!) and am apprehensive as to how gels would sit!
hi, I am due to run my first Marathon in May and looking for some advice about what to eat and drink whilst on a run. Previously, have only ever eaten a few jelly babies on half marathons but I'm guessing I'm gonna need more to get me round 26 miles. Do people take water out with them? How about gels? Will I need carbs as well? I'm only at the 10mile mark in training at the mo but am conscious that I need to start thinking about these things soon.
