Hi all. I've had a cold forever. So, my doctor gave me antibiotics. They haven't really helped. I'm now thinking it's an allergy. I'm also sick of waiting to get back out and run so i'm going to run now. I've got 16 weeks to Brighton marathon and I'm going to gradually reintroduced myself in to running. I plan to follow the Shades plan again. I looked at all these other plans but at the end of the day they are all much of a muchness and for a newbie like me I don't honestly think I need to do anything more than safely finish which I know the Shades plan will help me to do.
So, got my gear on. One conference call sits between me and a nice cold wet run lol. I assume the plan has not changed at all since I got my copy about 1.5 years ago?
Emmy that's a little unfair! I've ONLY done easy running all year.
After VLM I've done may 125 miles, june 103 miles, July 53 miles, august 15 miles (Ramadan), September 70 miles and October 40 miles (injured + holidays).
100% easy pace.
Khani - I guess I get that impression because you're always looking for a quick fix and don't actually listen to the advice from the more knowledgable runners (Shades, people from HADD thread etc.). HADD didnt give you the benefits quick enough so you moved to something else, then you post other things about Ironman etc. Each to their own but don't expect to not get some ribbing because you change your mind so often.
I remember at the start of this year that there was nothing easy about your runs. You were going full pelt for Brighton (i think that was your marathon?).
Emmy I was not going to reply to this but then I realised that a post would be out there claiming I don't listen to experienced people. Frankly that is a pile of crap. I listened to sheds throughout my running and subsequently. My training log proves it. As for hadd, it was not for me! I'm not going to be a robot who just keeps doing something that doesn't feel right to me. Running at 14-15 min mile is not something I'm prepared to do! Maybe when I'm fitter and my heart rate can bei n the right range at a reasonable pace i will try it. Even people on the hadd thread were messaging me privately saying thy agreed my paces we're way too slow.
Shoot me for daring to post about ironman plans in TWO years time!
