Clive, apart from the snip, which I have not yet got around to, all the rest of what you say applies to me.
Had knacker ache the other side a few years ago and went to see the quack and he said it was groin strain then, so I've just got on with it to be fair.
It came on strong when I did a hilly half earlier this year, but a bit of rest saw it fade away. I'd just manage the whole back/groin/klackers thing on an ongoing basis if I were you.
Mate, I get it after a good 5k sometimes. Right side only. For me it's only referred pain from the groin after I've finished running.
