accelerate in sheffield is one. they provide great customer service. currently they stock the lone peak, superior and instinct shoes. expensive compared to US - but they always make you a brew, and throw in a pair of injinji socks with the shoes. can't say fairer than that!
i have put about 80 miles into my lone peak 1.5s, and i must say that they are an outstanding shoe. waiting til the new superior comes out next year to buy a pair.
is there a map of the relief of this race online somewhere? how undulating is undulating? and by the sound of it, 'towpaths' etc, i'm guessing the race will be on hard-packed trail, gravelly sort of stuff mostly, and suitable for a door-to-trail type shoe, rather than requiring mudclaw-like lugs? help me out, people!
i have been waiting forever for altra shoes to come to UK!! i would love a pair of lone peaks and some superiors.
the guy in customer support on the website said that they would be available in the UK 'soon'. such vagueness has prompted me to travel to the US in autumn (also to visit a few far-flung friends) so i can snap up a couple of pairs. could be the most expensive running shoes i've ever bought!!
has anyone run in this shoe? although i'm not quite an ultra-runner (yet) they seem just about perfect for what i want - spring through to autumn three or four hour runs in the hills. they seem light and agile enough to cope with fairly technical trails, yet durable, and importantly for me, with some pronation support. the only thing that puts me off about them is the big toebox.
has anyone run in these, or know somebody that has? i have read toe's review on his ultranutrition blog - anyone else reviewed them?
furthermore, does anyone know who stocks them, so that i can try a pair myself? i live in the midlands. the new balance online store were unable to help me on this one. look forward to your replies/thoughts!
