What was going on in the long tunnel? I seem to remember some images at the sides all the way down and some kind of unidentifiable sounds which may have been music but I'm really not sure, whatever it was made it a weirdly enjoyable few minutes though.. did I imagine all this or did others feel it too??
Not a total shocker for me, coming in bang on 3:30 but like a lot of people the wheels started rattling around 30k and although they didn't fall off completely my second half was about 5 mins slower than my first as all those little ramps started to take their toll.
The short time I had in both pubs afterwards was great, those who came out purely to support are legends and everyone that got round on a difficult day with heat we haven't seen for 8 months or so in the UK deserves huge credit.
I'm writing this sitting on the floor between carriages on eurostar as my seat has no legroom and I've just stood for half an hour queuing at the bar. Loads of radioactive green t-shirts on here, they've missed out by not being part of you crowd..
Nice to meet you all at pasta papas tonight, really hope everything gets sorted Karen so you can de stress this evening. Thanks radarsal and runningrodent for helping put my significant supporter's mind at rest for tomorrow
Beer avoidance fail, oh well, it's all carbs innit.
