| Why does it matter which part of the country I live in? No I was just hoping that the combination of it being pain free to touch and not showing on the x ray might have meant something positive. Thanks shildonrunner, I will remember that when starting back! |

Hi there, I was diagnosed with a probable stress fracture before the results came through from an x-ray by the sports specialist. As my symptoms pointed to a tibial stress fracture, it was swollen etc couldnt run, i had had this pain for about a month but stopped running altogether after an attempted track session where i did the tempo but had to stop. Anyway, the results came back that a fracture did not turn up on the x-ray but over the last week my symptoms have got less serve - i can touch it without it being tender, only a slight slight tenderness, the swelling has started to go down , i can walk about no problem for most of the day and i have been cross training for this week on spin and x-trainer. The reason why i just had an x-ray was because the specialist thought i was about 3 or so weeks into it, as i have had this problem for all of february. I have an MRI scan next week, but just wondering if anyone has any advice on this? Could it be a stress reaction which i am praying that it is?! Otherwise, why would my severity symptoms have decreased. |

Ah thank you, your comment has calmed me down! So calf raises and the like would be beneficial? I have read on the internet people with calf problems, if they cant hop on the bad leg yet then they shouldnt be running? Would it be to do with stability as well? |
