Well done to all those who completed IMUK on Sunday! I was amazed by the pirate support and would like to say a huge thank you to you all for cheering me on. I am a relatively quiet pirate thread wise but cannot believe the level of support that was given to me. I have started a thank you thread but wanted to add it in here! Thanks again guys - I look forward to getting more involved with the pirates from here on, what a family!!
This is just a message of thanks for all of the pirates that were out supporting during the Ironman race on Sunday. I have never been a big presence on the pirate forums but have enjoyed the occasional banter and chat however after experiencing the support and enthusiasm from the pirates on Sunday I intend to enrol myself alot more fully in the full pirate experience.
On Sunday even though I am a relatively unknown pirate every single yellow topped supporter screamed their support and gave me 110%. I was amazed by this level of support and couldn't believe how much of a difference it made. At one point on the bike course I got really down and shed a little tear when just around the corner at the bottom of a hill were three pirate supporters who greeted me like an old friend. This gave me the boost I needed to finish the laps.
I've started this thread just to say a big thank you to all of the pirates who were out on Sunday I was truly blown away by it. I didn't achieve my Iron dream Sunday but feel like I took alot more away from the race than I ever thought possible. Thank you and I hope to see you all again soon.
p.s. Colt alley was something amazing. I nearly fell off my bike when screamed at by Ironholgs, the guy who started my triathlon training.
Need dark morning and evening inspiration guys, am finding it really hard to carry on the training as the nights draw in and the weather gets progressively worse! Any ideas/inspiration/tips would be much appreciated.
