Hi Cassie, did you manage to get a team together for this? I just did the Scottish one this weekend and it was awesome! I think you definately need a team though. Some of the obstacles require teamwork and it's definitely more fun with a group. |

Hi dh1990, I've literally just replied tom someone about the same issue, heres what I put:: Have you tried barefoot running? I used to get shin splints (shin pain) all of the time until I started running on a treadmill barefoot (well, with socks). I don't know if it was because my trainers were making me heal strike, or if it is because we are designed to run barefoot, but it sorted the problem out almost straight away. I know barefoot running strengthens your feet, which in turn will help your run. You also said you're doing speedwork. Are you sprinting a set distance and then stopping yourself as quickly as you can, eg before you hit a railing, fence, trees? It could also be the "slapping" of your feet as you stop yourself. Hope this helps Chris |

Hi all, I've been scouring the internet for anything that is similar to what I've done but I have Tough Mudder coming up this weekend and am really worried whether I'll make it. Basically, I went for a 10 miler last week and at mile 9 the sole of my foot, on the outer edge, started getting painful, and got worse till I submitted to walking the rest of the way. Here's my symptoms since then: I was able to walk ok for a while, but became painful later on. The next day I could only walk on my heals or toes (tiptoeing was painless) but not the normal rolling walking action. I can now walk ok, but it has just got more painful again after a day of shopping (due to my wifes need for varying shops in all locations!). I've iced the area which did help but there's nowhere thats painful when I "jam" my fingers into my foot. Only wait bearing I suppose. I have no dull pain. No sharp pinpoint pain when walking. Just masses of confusion! Please Help Thanks |
