Aww gutted for ya. My knee started twingin at about 4 miles which slowed me down a bit but I still managed a sprint finish. Funniest thing was when I crossed the finish line and stopped, my legs wouldn't stop and tried to start pumping again LOL

My time isn't as good as any of the above but it was my first 10k and first competitive run today.

I managed 50 mins 08 seconds. Which is what I was aiming for roughly.  I was a bit narked with myself though as when I originally registered for the dash, I hadn't started running at all so I put my estimated time at 1h 30. So when I started today I was right at the back and for the first mile I couldn't move fast enough through the crowd so I reckon I lost at least a couple of minutes due to that.

On the plus side, I did say to myself it would be a major bonus if I beat Leeds Rhinos and former Bradford Bulls rugby league Legend, Jamie Peacock and I did actually beat him by over a minute. Not bad for someone who only 5 months ago was a couch potato!

I've already registered for the Bradford 10k in a couple of weeks!!

I really enjoyed it today and felt like I achieved something and I raised a few quid for charity too!!

Did my first trail run yesterday! I've just signed up for the Total Warrior challenge and realised I have to get super fit to be able to complete it.

I enjoyed it thoroughly although I found the route I chose to be very challenging. A lot of very steep muddy hills.Having said that, I'm not someone who believes in starting easy. I prefer to start hard and see my progress as it becomes easier. It was only 4 and a quarter miles but it was a slog.

Having a week of rest with very light gym work as I'm doing The Leeds Abbey Dash on Sunday. It's my first competitive run and as a new runner I'm hoping to get a sub 50 minutes finish time!! Fingers crossed. Can't see it happening to be honest but you never know!!

One of the people who sponsored me said they would give me an extra tenner if I beat Leeds Rhinos captain, Jamie Peacock so thats another target!!!

I've just registered for the Total Warrior race in August next year and I was wondering if anyone can recommend some trail running shoes that won't break the bank. Could do without spending another small fortune after my recent running shoe purchase. I'm also an overpronator as well so could do with a bit of supprt.

Any other tips on what to wear on every other part of my body would be gratefully received as this is my first adventure run.........Run!!!  who am I kidding!!

Thanks

Cheers guys. Think I'm going to have my feet properly assessed to find if I have dodgy feet. Don't want to fork out a ton on a new pair of runners if they're not the right type.
Thanks again
