just reading your comments about Gullion...love it Martin..we'd a great time and hoped the colour added a bit to the event..trying to organise it on a yearly theme for those that want to dress up...cops v robbers...highlander v lion heart....and next year is superheroes....so that braveheart speech I learnt word for word is now redundant.
Just did my favourite 10k...Forkhill...amazing 2 top running friends from England came over for it Steve Darby and Hannah Oldroyd came over and took 1st and 2nd place...honestly my favourite race 46:11 and nothing left in the tank.
Did the 1/2 at the Tollymore event..amazing running in the forest and as I was running alone....(friends all doing the 10k full or ultra) I decided to go hell for leather and did 1:50..when I drove home I'd a wee bit of trouble getting out of the car!
Also looking forward to Gullion. Last year they billed it as fancy dress or retro running if anyone wanted to add to the fun element, for the craic.only one person arrived dressed up me...but after a while my running friend seen the benifits of joining the fun element did get dressed up joining me as highland warrior. This year im guaranteed 4 dressed up..but hey its for the hospice so anything goes in my book.
16min pb at the half yesterday. Sooo much harder than last year as the ground was a quagmire! from a distance it must have looked like I was on a skateboard at times, but wouldn't miss it for anything!
