i see what you mean but Nike sell "running" shoes so shouldn't the shoes be good for running instead of like the book suggests, are more likely to give injury
Hi, finished reading born to run today and i did think the whole book was very impressive and knowledgable. I am a tiny bit inspired to try bare foot running but i was wondering if the part about the running shoes was all true? I can't get my head around why Nike and other brands sell running shoes if they don't actually help and even cause injury. Have you read the book, if so what did you think?
i'm really excited to get into running and started a week ago. i've been seeing what i'm capable of running and my furthest so far is a 5 mile run. At the moment i run 2 and a bit miles everyday and have the weekends off. My issue is i live in a very boring part of the UK where there isn't any running routes. At the moment i run the longest route i've found (also a safe place to run) which is 2.2miles. Because of where i live and how dull it is it's really messing me up as i really want to get running properly but i don't have running routes here and lots of busy roads . I see pictures in the magazine of trails through trees and round lakes and it makes me very jealous! What can i do about this? i'm going to see if there is a running club in town that i can join to add abit of excitement into my running ...
