I have used red venom and find them good and much cheaper than 2xu or similar. They all seem very similar and if you can get aldi ones I'm sure they will be just as good.

I started using when I played rugby and kept getting calf injuries. Kept using them for running and they work well

The difference between the NB890 V1 and V2 was noticeable. Not uncomfortable but different as it had a lower volume toe box. I was able to try them and I get on with them really well.

I do however know of people who bought the V2 and hated it.

Try and find a pair. I know the sports direct near me had loads of NB shoes but no idea if they had any 860 in. They were all cheap though and I did buy some minimums trail shoes.

If you do choose to invest the wave harriers are an awesome shoe. They do seem to come up a little on the short side though.

They will see you into much rougher terrain as well should you choose to run more off road.

I'm another large runner. I've found that running on trails and off road has helped me to shake some of the niggles.

I tend to have an older pair of shoes for training and a newer pair for races same make and model. When training pair dies I buy a new pair to race in. I've found that I get more miles out of my NB 890 than any other shoes I've used.

Once you start on off road shoes you will never be happy with one pair I have a pair of NB 101 awesome for most things except really muddy runs pretty minimal though. . Mizuno Wave Harriers like the NB but offer more protection. Had Kanadias and some asics but didn't get on with them. Also have more mile Cheviots for when it gets real muddy and x country or fell races.

For a one stop shop I would choose the Mizuno as the grip is good and they are ok on sections of road.

Hope this helps
