Rob W- there are Clif Energy Bloks at several points and then a Clif Gel shot at 20 (or so) miles. Together with the water pouches, I'm hoping for this to be enough. Though I have given several family and friend supporters gels to give me back at various points on the course if/when I need them!
Thanks for the quick replies guys. Target is 2.59 also, 1st time marathon and target is based on recent(ish) 5k, 10k & HM of 17.45, 38.00 & 1.27.0. Current training suggests I'm a little better than I was at those times I think despite a bout of Achilles tendinopathy in the summer.
7.30/mile sounds a good pace for the long run then - I'm at 12 miles around that pace currently without much difficulty.
