thanks all, XcurlytwigX your right I dont want to sacrifice achievements and what ive built. But also i fear new weight will go around my stomach and so naturally slow me down. I might try going back to the gym twice a week. Im healthy so no problems there!
I read 8kg gain can cost 30s/mile! Didnt expect to be making these decisions when I started running!!
hi, im writing this as I come to a cross roads in my running. My 10k time over the last couple of months has come down from 42 to about 37:30 and my running apart from the odd niggle is going very well. But I have gone from 74kg to 66kg and this is pretty unacceptable to me. It is very thin and a big sacrifice. Anyone had similar issues or advise? Im thinking of cutting my distance down to 5k and go for strength rather than more endurance. My long run is 14.5 miles but i generally only run 30 / 40 miles a week.
