I'm thinking of having some kind off pace band because everybody has a good idea at times you should be hitting but to have it there in black and white can only help. Off topic I like a drink used to be beer but now red wine must be age is anyone not drinking or stopping in the run up, I'm planning on going dry for the last few weeks in a perfect world I wouldn't be drinking now but there's always a reason too.
Thanks for all the input I've just added up last week miles and I did about 43 but the week before only managed 23 my plan this week looks like I'll do about 53 I'm defo concerned about cramming in the mileage thanks but if I can stay fit I've got a chance, there's three of us at the club who are all close to achieving a sub 3hr but after quite a few try's over the last couple of years it's not quite happened 3.06 is the closest so we all know what a achievement it is.
Rob,David and Wenty thanks I know on paper I should but think my mileage might let me down. I did a 18 miler today with a steady 7.30 minute miles when I get out I try to make the runs count my plan this week which I'm hoping to stick to is Monday 5 mile easy Tuesday club night 1hr speed and strength Wednesday 10 mile easy Thursday tempo run 35 minute at about 6.30 minute miles Friday rest Saturday parkrun Sunday 20 mile I'm hoping to keep the next few weeks similar just upping the mileage in the week any thoughts thanks!
Hi Just found this thread some great running/training going on I'm hoping for a sub 3hr I realise how tough it is having run 2 Manchester marathons first 3.22 second 3.08 and snowdon 3.18. I attempted a sub 3hr at Manchester 3.08 but hit the wall at mile 19 and had to walk run the last 7 mile. My pbs are as follows half 1.22 10 mile 1.00.54 10k 36.43 5k 17.38 so I've got the speed I think, was look for a bit of advice I've not managed as many runs as I'd like (new born) but still managing about 35 miles a week was hoping to crank up the mileage in the next few weeks to about 65 miles. I've only been running for nearly 3 years is it just a matter of time? I'm just a bit paranoid that I'm not capable of a sub 3hr any advice welcome!
