Dr Robert, I have read your thread on the other forum.
So, in summary, it is £32 to run the London Marathon with all the thrills, goodie bag at the end, T-shirt, number that doesn't rip and of course, more water and energy drinks than you can shake a stick at, or £25 to run a brand new race, no history and only 300 competitors max.
In saying that, Leith Hill is a beautiful area, but I think I would rather enter 2 different races at £12 a time for the same amount of cash!
Macmillan supporters were just absolutely wild!! To see the Macmillan cheering points was just the lift I needed and at exactly the right time too! And when you came down the Mall and they are going absolutely crazy in the stand, it was just awesome!
The recovery centre was fantastic too - Such fabulous people and made the whole day a pleasure!
I just can't praise Macmillan enough for the support, the friendliness and the time and effort devoted to all of us that ran the marathon!
Katie S, I came in at 3.27 too! How long did it take for you to cross the start line? We couldn't have been too far apart!
Nick, It is absolutely right what you have been told.
Whilst our vests will be of technical material to a degree, there probably isn't much material, so balancing the wicking properties against comfort is a fine line!
Unless it is made from stuff like dri-fit or similar materials, or you are wearing another top underneath, you need to balance the technical aspect of the top with it feeling soft and comfortable on the skin.
Being from the South, feeling comfortable on the day is what I err for!
