Went out this evening for a run, equipped the head torch and took the dog with me. Had a couple of slight inclines and a descent. The dog was very good and I think he really enjoyed himself (he's a lab cross springer spaniel) so will probably take him again. The moon was really lovely tonight.
Another run this afternoon taking the scenic route to pick the kids up from school including a steep hill.
I'm lucky with the Stort 30 as it's a fairly flat route along a canal but it can get rather muddy and slippery depending on the weather.
RunningMax, I'm not asking whether it is possible to run an ultra in an under a year, I'm just reporting in on my journey I have a marathon plan that takes me to June the 29th, there is a 26.5 mile race that I have my eye on, the trouble is that the race is on the day after my brother-in-law's wedding.... After all if Booktrunk can run a Marathon in 22 weeks, anything is possible! And a 30 miler is not much further after all.
I'm almost a beginner runner, I started last year on the Couch to 5k programme with the intention of running Brighton this April but had an op in June with a delayed recovery and then discovered I have endometriosis. Am now back to reasonable health With medication and really really want to run my local ultra the Stort 30 in October!
I'm a 33 year old overweight female (am losing slowly), I go walking & geocaching on a regular basis so not entirely unfit.
I restarted the couch to 5k today on week 4 and ran 1.5 miles. Sore calfs but that's to be expected. My aim is to report on here after every run, hopefully won't bore you guys too much!
Mowzer - Hope you feel better soon, make sure you take it easy and get eldest daughter to look after you
Am still running, although I did stop for a little while due to some tablets I was on but am now steadily following my marathon plan for April (Feb definitely out of the question). I am hoping I will pick up speed soon as I'm still rather slow, I believe Brighton has a cut off time wise
I need to find a good running route for when my mileage increases over 6-7. Not sure whether to stick to the river path or look for alternative routes.
