After 3.38 at Manchester last year I'm looking to get closer to the 3.30 this year. I don't follow any plans as such just run 4 times a week. Hill rep session, tempo session, a 8-10 mile marathon pace run and my Sunday long slower run. I have two HM coming up, one 21/02 and the other 20/03 so I will have a good guide to where I am at.
My current HM time is 1.32.58 so I should be capable of the 3.30 marathon but something in the mind holds me back from fully committing, I felt faint after a previous marathon and I have a fear of not being fully in control.
18 miles on Sunday done along a perfectly flat out and back route in 2.26 and didn't feel to hard at all. Been doing the longer runs recently on hilly hard routes and certainly felt the benefit of that on the flatter route.
Some great running going on and with the hotel booked and the advanced rail tickets booked its all seeming more real and closer.
Enjoyed the finish last year, hope the new finish hasn't lost any of that appeal.
