Also did Reading half, run was fantastic and support amazing, didnt push it but got a 1.41 PB so goes to show all the training is coming together. Organisation was terrible as has been said, numbers were based on predicted finish time so guess what, everyone was together, took over an hour to get bag and then another hour for the shuttle bus !!! Shocking !!!!
Hello all, 3 weeks into proper training for IM Nice, this week have done 1 hour strength/circuit session, 3k in the pool this morning and will chuck out a 45 min run tonight.
So far all going well, averaged around 10 hours a week split 2 swim (my best bit), 3 run, 3 bike and 1 strength! For the first time Ive invested in a coach, nice to have all my sessions just laid out there in training peaks and then upload from Garmin or Timex to keep a track. The pass with my wife included sundays off which isn't ideal but means that when I finish on saturday, no more training until monday night so feels like a good rest! Sunday will be added though later as the big day approaches.
Did Outlaw in its first year (2010?) but kind of forgotten how relentless this all is, and not even got to the big weeks yet!!
So 5 days later and it's amazing how the pain is forgotten and I'm now itching for the next one.....SDW50 now has my name on it
Went down with a cold on Sunday that I had been keeping at bay for a week so felt pretty sorry for myself then but the legs felt pretty good and could have run! Considering how little training I'd done I was very surprised...the last 5 miles exposed that but to recovery that quickly...cool!
I put it down to my new nutrition regime (I work for SiS so would say that), Rego Gel prior to run(yes prior), then a few gels and bars and then lovely cold Banana Rego at the finish! Seemed to work for me!!
