First of all well done on getting going.
Secondly you will now be doing more exercise than probably over half the population.
Thirdly it gets ALOT easier, stick with it and the rewards will come.
If you have an android phone get a C25K programme and work to that. You will be a 5km in 12 weeks no problems.
8km done and all good.
55 mins cycle done all good.
This is my plan this week, posting so I can easily see it after my LSR was Monday.
Tues - Rest
Wed - 8k Easy
Thurs - 45 min cycle
Fri 8k - Tempo
Sat - Rest
Sun - 16k LSR
LG, not so sure if you can help on this one.
The guy i am running with is in a running club and he recommends carb loading for the race.
In other words 4 or 5 days before the event eat protein based foods and cut out as much as possible carbs, then the day before eat carbs.
Does this work or is it a receipe for disaster?
Was ill in bed on Sunday all day so didnt get out but decided I had to run today.
Having eaten only 2 rounds of toast the day before, and nothing to drink I was on a hiding to nothing.
Managed just over 15km when I simply stalled and stopped. I was so dehydrated. However i am not upset about the run, as I was good until about 12km despite being ill.
21km on race day will be fine.
Thanks for this weeks plan.
