I am 8 weeks out from the London Marathon and am starting to worry that my training is off.
Up until a couple of weeks ago I was doing 2 x short runs during the week with a long run at the weekends. These LSR were up to around 15 miles.
As expected, my training has taken various hits due to illness, work commitments, mum in hospital etc but I always tried to get my runs in. I never doubled up, if I missed one i missed one and just did the next session on plan
2 weeks ago i was 10 miles into a 15 mile run but had to stop due to sharp pain in my knee. Advice from the injury section of the forum was that it could be ITBS. anyway i took a week off, went back this week but 2 miles in bam, had to stop due to the pain
I haven't yet done any 20/22 mile runs so am starting to worry that i won't be ready for the 26.2 miles. Obviously I don't want to be doing these long runs 2 weeks before so i kind of have only 4-6 weeks to get these in.
I am currently on a rest week due to this knee injury, swimming and stretching are priority. Assuming I recover from the injury am I still on target to "get round"?
