I have injured my calf, it was tight running the other week but seems to have got worse even though i stopped running, on top of that I have been ill so haven't been out. Not looking for sympathy but just wondered how many weeks so I go back no, is 1 week back per week missed a good indicator |

Although I had what I thought was a good base of fitness, regularly played football, cycled to work, I started running about 3/4 weeks ago I seem to be doing well, gradually building up my times/distance however I have a question In week 2 I was running 10 minutes, walking 2 minutes (x3) i covered 4.96KM in 32 minutes Jump to week 4, now running 15 minutes, walking 1 minute (x2), today I covered 4.96Km in 32 minutes My pace was around 6:25 for both runs (running part) I assume this is improvement? |

A general question really, is it ok to cycle on my rest days. With the weather getting nicer I have 2 rest days during the week where I would prefer to ride. its only 6 miles I don't usually go at a killer pace or would I be better actually resting? |

Also, is it natural for the first part of the run to be faster I ran my first 12 minutes at a pace of 5:37, my second was 6:20 and my third 06:13. Should I be targetting a steady pace for the entire run? |
