I reckon 12 miles about now is ok, i did a 12 last sunday, i'm in the FLM.

i  am trying regular racing , it is a refreshing change to endless miles  & seems to help, i.e your long run could be a race, not to race it but to enjoy running with others. I have run a few 10's and is a good distance.....not too far.

This may help your motivation.

Running with music is also good.

I f you have been ill, be patient keep all runing at a comfortable pace, this will still keep your weight down, but not stress your body.

Hello,

Well it would be if the training was going o.k but it's not.
tTrying a 3 days a wk training i.e Long run going o.k. up to 20 miles.
2 x speed trainging session fallen well behind schedule!
Could I ease back on long runs an do smaller disance spped reps/ tempo.
Not to late for a change of plan!
Doing cross traing other days.

Hi BD,
Great choice of challenge!
Of the three discipline you need to work on your weakest.
Train well , maximise your time.Try a tri club that helped me, they are dead friendly.
Don“t bother with a time on the first one,
practise changing from out of your wetsuit at speed, also practise running from your bike , thats well weird.
I repeat this in a gym, 10mins bike then 10min run on the tread mill.Say 6 times
The training is particular to this sport,
and should be researched to maximise your training time available.
Try to avoid just taining on the thing you enjoy!!!.Enjoy!
