Apparently it will tone your upper arms when you run and then on race day you will feel lighter? |

Ok thanks, I've just been told to train with wrist weights, even if it's just 0.5kg, what are your thoughts please? |

Hi Everyone, I'm a first time runner and just signed up to the St Albans Half Marathon - June 9th. I'm 20-eat healthily and exercise moderately but running has never been my exact speciality. Any tips/advice/anything would be gratefully received - be it the cheapest good running shoes (are they worth investing in) to what I should be aiming to do per week? I posted on here before when I was thinking of running a marathon and was advised to do a half first so I'm hoping the responses are as good as last time! Thanks in advance! |

Hi, I'm new to all of this but I'm really keen to run the Brighton Marathon in mid-April. I'm 20, reasonably fit (work out perhaps twice a week) but can only do 5k on a treadmill. I've read that on average it takes 12-16 weeks to train for a marathon but if I were to enter this one - I would only have 8 weeks, does anyone believe this is physically possible or is it just a silly idea? I'd also be happy running a half marathon but am based in London and so finding local halves with availability is near impossible. Thanks, |
