I would agree with your comments Alwyn regarding the actual event. Very well run but as you say for that money you would hope for a technical t-shirt and in a size which suits. Its quite lazy to supply just the one size and if it fits it fits!
I followed the 1hr 45mins pacer for about 9 miles and have to say he was very good so good job to whoever you were!
I have eventered Lisburn half in the middle of June so probably have a bit of a rest for a few days anyway!
Just home from the Newry half marathon got in around 1.47 so pleased with that considering I hadnt the smoothest of preparations with a few niggly injuries! I was going well up to 9 miles which included a very tough hill and it was roasting out there as well!! Tailed off towards the end but happy with my time for a first half.
Hi folks, i have been having a problem the past few weeks with my left hip just a real dull pain in everytime i run. It fine at the start of my runs but when i hit mile 4 or so the pain becomes worse. Anyone ever experienced that before or any ideas what it could be?? Thanks.
Ok so day 1 of month 2 yesterday evening and wow that was BRUTAL!!! Month 1 is a walk in the park compared with that! Really kicks up a level and it is a real struggle. Some new moves in there as well but hopefully after another few days i will get the hang of them. Hopefully as AliB said in the previous post the results will be noticeable.
Mark - i think the times for Newry are 9 for the full marathon and 9.30 for the half.
Ran 13 miles today - it was very tough and various aches and pains throughout really didnt help! I got a real pain in my left hip the same happened last week as well but this week it was sore again. Any ideas what it could be?
Good luck to everyone running the marathon tomorrow as a relative newbie to longer distance running you all have my full admiration. As i was nearing the end of my run today I was thinking how the hell could i run another 13 miles of this!! Good luck to all and enjoy if possible!
