i have suffered badly from this in the past - strengthening my glutes is what finally did the trick and correct footwear.
i remember from old forums that lots of people used pat straps to get them through a marathon.
massage and stretching will also keep the worst of it away - i was able to google search a few different stretches for it - have a try.
hope it gets better in time for the marathon

i have not been running for the past 4 weeks and have had to pull out of october marathon. i have baffled two running physios - but one now thinks it is compartment syndrome (anterior)- from what little i know of this i think he is right.
physio cant trigger the pain nor can anything else except running - stairs and single leg weight bearing could initially.
i am resting ++ had some physio but cant afford anymore (will try my GP again for NHS referral)

anyone had this? what kind of recovery time am i looking at? is cycling ok or does that cause poressure build up? only info could find on the internet was nasty pics of surgical procedures.

any info, please?
