thanks for your response, this is really helpful! I'm really eager to join a club and get to meet people and am already chomping at the bit after not running since I left the uk on Sunday!
Im living in Al Barsha so might give the Dubai Road Runners a go first as they meet near here although not sure they do a long run at the wkend? However when I start working I might also try one of the clubs that meet near to where I end up working.
Yes let's hope our paths cross and we end up on a run together in the future! Have you been in Dubai long?
I can second that as I am using KT tape on my glute right now and it is making a big difference. (I can actually do a lunge without pain now which is massive progress!). I'm also going to give it another week before trying to run again but in the meantime will continue to pool run and bike, plus work on my core strength.
Help! Training going well until about 2 weeks ago when i started to get pain in my SI joint after a run. This gradually got worse to where it is now painful to walk. I haven't run for a week and the pain has not gone away. Have been to physio & taking Naproxen but not really touching the sides. What would you recommend is the best x-training i can do maintain fitness for VLM? Should i mix cardio and strength at this stage or just focus on keeping a level of cardio?
