I ran 3.58.20, target was sub 4 so over the moon. First 2 miles were slow due to congestion, stepped up to 8.35 pace until around 20 then it started slipping. I cannot really say I remember much about the last 2 miles apart from pain and torture and dreaming about explaining how I missed 4hrs, AGAIN, I somehow dug deep and sped up over the last 2k and did it.
One final thing, and my wife dared me to put this on(!), yesterday evening I had the most ridiculous wind ever, now is that down to the post marathon do's chicken lasagne, or does running that long just make me fart?!! (never had this before!)
Hello, I have an urgent question! I am staying at a hotel right next to Tower Gateway DLR station- getting to Greenwich is no problem. I am supposed to go to Blackheath as a Blue starter. I want to go to Greenwich then walk to the Blue start. How difficult is it to get from Red to the Blue start? Will they not let me through as I am a blue starter? Will I have to walk round the park up Croom's hill?
Getting a train to Blackheath looks a bit of a mission you see!
