I am only doing 50 to 60 miles a week training. I think if I did more than 60 miles a week I would get injured. I was exhausted by ultras (mentally & physically) after the Thames Trot in Feb, so will not be turning up overtrained, having done little over 20 miles since. I think what is important is having done some recent long runs and b2b with time on feet rather than miles. I will be doing plenty of run/ walking! I am expecting the coast path to be a lot flatter than the South Coast. I hope I am not disappointed.
Pink bug- I envy your recent long runs that must give you plenty of confidence that you can do the distance and the more confident you are the more you can push yourself to run rather than walk.
Hi Iron TT. I have entered as well. Will be my third 50 miler. Looking forward to most of the course being along the coast. I have been to the Gower but do not know the route though. I like the generous cut off of 18 hours. Hopefully will be finished long before! With a new event you can never be sure what to expect, but I am sure it will be good (once it is over)!
