Thanks a lot for the support.
I've done marathons in the past, last year's FLM with a GFA place and was planning to go A'dam in six weeks.
I must say, I am tempted to step down to 1/2 marathons. |

I really can't see the point any more. That's the end of it. No more 20 mile misery runs, lung busting interval sessions, nursing of achilles tendons, or worries about IT band syndrome. I'm, physically and emotionally exhasted, I cried last night at the thought of running ten miles.
Is running 26.2 miles such a big deal that it's worth making such huge sacrifices?

Yeah, use 'em for speedwork and in foul weather for other running.
There tends to be a lot of eye candy at my gym, so boredom's never too much of an issue. |

The fact is I had a bad experience. The podiatrist I saw was rude to me and patrosining.
She also recommended an expensive solution I didn't need - she should have seen, if she had any amount of professional expertise, that my running problem could have been corrected with a normal off the shelf running shoe.
It didn't inspire confidence, and she really let down your specialism.
Incidently, what postgraduate (or academically recognise qualification) do podiatrists need to practice? Is there a regulatory authority? Is there a recognised professional organisation they have to have passed exams to gain membership of? |
