Can anyone help? I have recently started to experience a strange pain in the middle of my left calf, which is followed by a 'pins and needles' type sensation in the left foot. This comes on after about 20-30mins of easy running, and even if I walk constantly for more than about 30mins. I cycle and swim without any trouble. Someone has suggested that this could be a circulatory problem, either DVT or even HEART DISEASE!! I have seen my doc but he had no idea what it could be.
Just want to say this is a brilliant thread! I've been following it since I entered a couple of months ago. I was targeting this for my first sub 3.30 and all was going well until last week when I got a twinge in my achilles. I've been resting it and havent run for a week but at least it feels fine now. I've now got a bloody cold and was thinking of pulling out on Sunday until I read all the support and encouragement for Legless (esp. from Mrs Legless - what a post!). Although it wasn't for me directly I just wanted to say Thanks for helping to re-focus. As has been said - I've done all the hard work and come too far to give it all up now. Good Luck to us all!
I ran the half and really enjoyed it. They descibed the course as "challenging" and they weren't wrong! With some of those hills they needed Sherpas not marshalls! Nice to find a well organised local event, which only cost £5. Thanks to all involved. Does anyone know if the results get published anywhere?
What a relief! It was bad enough when I thought I'd done about 3hrs 50min, but to then see the time on the results as 4:00:50 was gutting! It took around 12 mins. to cross the start and as I entered The Mall the clock was just ticking over to 4hrs, so I'm pretty sure that the results must be clock times not chip times.
FLM virgin seeks advise........ Anyone any experience of travelling in from Romford on the Sunday morning. Starting from Blue start and would like to arrive about 8.30. Got no idea about train times / which tubes I'll need to get to the start. Any advise gratefully received. Thanks and Good Luck to all of us. Heres to a brilliant day.
